Hello everyone! So nice to see more & more people on here.
HILARY - stop lurking and join the club already!!!
Kurt - you know the answer - natural juice (100%) is ok if you need it in a recipe or something - but drinking glasses of it is not a good idea.
Lory - Kirsten wrote the location of the butcher - there MUST be a good one closer to you though!!??
It's very cool to see everyone fighting their cravings!! Kurt & Claudia at the bday party, Amy at the movie theatre, Kirsten at the hockey game....amazing!!
Kirsten - there are LOTS of things that you can take with you - basically anything. I know it might seem "weird" to some people, but I take slices of steak, chicken thighs, ham slices etc everywhere with me...you should be careful about meat at the stadium - especially the hot dogs :) But if it's literally your last resort, than it's better than going hungry.
Jenny
Meal 1: 2 turkey blueberry patties, sautéed spinach and grape tomatoes, 1/2 avocado, black coffee.
ReplyDeleteAlso had my daily dose of fish oil, does anyone else take fish oil? It's a great source of omega 3's and loaded with benefits! Absolutely recommended!
Kurt, was that you posting or was that your wife? And if it was you then where the heck is Claudia??
Breakfast: 2 eggs over easy, slices of flank steak. BBQ for breakfast! Excellent! half a kiwi and 1/4 of an orange. I definitely noticed that the protein made me feel full and really stopped me from over-eating, even thought there was more fruit to be had. Put it in the fridge for later :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip, Jenny. My only concern is that my purse gets searched pretty much every time I go to hockey games and I'm pretty sure I'm not supposed to bring in any outside food or drink. I'll give it a go and worse case scenario, I have to chuck it.
And I agree: HILARY! I want to see how things are going for you!
Kirsten - can you eat before you go to the game? If not - do the bunless burger!!
ReplyDeleteToday was pretty good for me - was at the store and had no time for lunch, so grabbed a bunch of things from the grocery store across the street...
1: 6 oz striploin steak, 2 eggs, black coffee
2: mandarin orange, almonds
3: carrots, guacamole, natural turkey slices, banana
4: garden salad with oil & vinegar, prime rib, prawns, asparagus
We went to The Keg for dinner, it was so delicious and I resisted the warm bread :)
Overall I feel good, but am so excited to come home for a bit, to sleep better, get back to the gym and to eat less fruit & less nuts!! And to see my husband :) I have one more big trip during the Whole 30
Jenny
Meal 2: ham slices(this is a big nitrate and nitrite free ham that we buy at westlynn meats and cut up ourselves, not some shitty deli meat ham), apple, raw broccoli florets, a handful of mixed nuts(almonds and pecans that we roasted ourselves)
ReplyDeleteMeal 3: leftover Paleo chili, this time I cut up 1/2 avocado and green onions to put on top.
Tonight I prepared butternut squash lasagna for tomorrow nights dinner, so delicious! And yay! I'll get to enjoy it with my wife!!
meal 1 sauteed kale and zucchini and spinach and 3 eggs all scrambled together..it was really good
ReplyDeletemeal 2 coconut pumpkin soup(homemade) turkey sausages
meal 3 we made chicken strips! with coconut flour and shredded coconut and ground almonds yum broccoli and carrots steamed.
I am just washing all my veggies for the week and cooked extra chicken for the week.
Tomorrow is turkey burgers! wrapped in lettuce of course no buns!
feeling good!
something sweet...I am having dates and raw coconut! I love Coconut!
Yeah, that's what I ended up doing for the game: meal before, snack during, meal after. If the games are at 7 then I can. I only have two games in January that I need to worry about but it's good to come up with a couple of strategies.
ReplyDeleteSnack: celery with almond butter, small piece of smoked salmon.
Dinner: coconut chicken curry - this was excellent! Onions, broccoli, chicken, curry powder, ginger, coconut milk and spinach.
Herbal tea tonight. I tried really hard to stay away from fruit to see how I feel. I do have a bit of a headache tonight and I'm craving something sweet. It's not too bad though :)
