Day 6 - Jan 6

Happy Friday!

Anyone noticing any changes? Energy?

My skin got worse for the first few days, but is now starting to look & feel much better - weird!

Like Kurt said, because I have done this a couple of times, it seems to be a bit easier for me....I am still working on not eating too many nuts & too much fruit - which is a really common issue, as they are easy & sweet. Feeding a sugar craving with fruit is still feeding the craving :)

My energy has felt really good, until I worked out in the hotel gym this morning - I felt like dead weight! Very sluggish. The time change might be a factor too.

Post your thoughts/meals/comments & questions!!!

Jenny

  3. breakfast: two scrambled eggs and an orange

    snack: pear

lunch: tuna salad - same as yesterday. An orange and a kiwi.

I figured as much with substituting fruit for sugar... Perhaps as I get further into the challenge, I will hopefully cut back on this and use veggies/protein as a substitute.

I've noticed that my skin has been terrible too - Jenny, I hope that the same improvements happen to me soon!

  6. Today was a weird one for me. I took the lululemon Halifax managers out for lunch and they wanted sushi...yeah - never eating sushi in Halifax again! It was terrible. I couldn't have the salad dressing because it had sugar in it...

So then I ended up eating random snacks all afternoon. And then out for dinner...really wanted the squash/apple soup but it had cream it it!! Oh well, still found a delicious dish!

1: 3 eggs, ham, black coffee, apple

2: green salad (no dressing), ebi sashimi

3: tea, banana, orange, almonds, chicken thigh

4: scallops, asparagus, grilled zucchini, mashed yams (only had small bite as pretty sure it had butter in it!)

  7. snack prior to yoga class: small piece of smoked salmon

I did a vinyasa class and the instructor kicked our butts! Or maybe just me :)

Dinner: I made spaghetti meat sauce with organic beef, onions, carrots, garlic, celery, oregano, paprika, chilli powder and whole tomatoes. This was my first attempt at spaghetti squash and I must say = success! Way easier than I thought it would be and really tasty.

TGIF!!! :) I think the weekend will be more of a challenge for me as I have less of a specific schedule.

  8. Dinner: grass fed rib eye steak, grilled, with zucchini, side dish of sautéed spinach and grape tomatoes in ghee.

Going to make turkey blueberry patties tonight to have for breakfast the next couple of days, if anyones interested I can post the recipe. They're so good and nice to change it up from the normal breakfast proteins.

Feeling really good so far, still suffering at the gym but I'm sure it will come!

  10. Okay so I have a confession Jenny I have been taking my Vega whole food meal replacement for breakfast for the last 6 days! I know it has listed as the very last ingredient Stavia but it is dairy free and gluten free...going forward I wont have it anymore. So today on the menu was
    Vega shake with a banana
lunch was mixed green salad with hard boiled eggs and avacodo and oil and vinegar dressing
dinner was steak with baked sweet potato with a little olive oil.
snacks were a few dates and almonds, raw coconut and the last two almond butter cookies I made...they cost me a small fortune to make so I am going to finish them and then no more paleoing?
